The importance of names
February 26, 2012 at 10:49 pm by mo
One last thing to remember is that, when choosing a unique and individual name for your child, in the end that name belongs to your child, not you. So far the star baby names have been less … um … creative, but still unique and beautiful. This year Halle Berry named her new baby girl Nahla. Cate Blanchett named her family’s new addition – a little boy – Ignatius. And J. Lo’s twins are named Max and Emme. The names, while respectful of tradition and family, have not been without their downsides. “There have been difficulties with teachers making judgments about educational background, or that we’re from the ghetto,” says Littleton. “When I started applying for jobs, a cousin told me to leave the ‘Day’ off of my name on professional documents.

More about Scarlet fever rash
at 9:57 pm by mo
The rash is the most striking sign of scarlet fever. Scarlet fever rash usually begins looking like a bad sunburn with tiny bumps, and it may itch. Although the sandpapery rash does not usually occur on the face, your child’s forehead and cheeks may appear red and flushed. In addition to this flushed appearance, there is usually a pale area around his mouth (circumoral pallor). During the first one to two days of illness, the tongue may have a white-colored coating with protruding, swollen, and red papillae on the surface. After about four to five days, the white coating sloughs off revealing a red-colored tongue with prominent papillae (strawberry tongue).

More about HD
at 9:21 pm by mo
It is never easy to deal with Huntington’s disease. Physicians may prescribe a number of medications to help control emotional and movement problems associated with Huntington’s disease. It is important to remember however, that while medicines may help keep these clinical symptoms under control, there is no treatment to stop or reverse the course of the disease. The most striking neuropathology in HD occurs within the neostriatum, in which gross atrophy of the caudate nucleus and putamen is accompanied by selective neuronal loss and astrogliosis. Marked neuronal loss also is seen in deep layers of the cerebral cortex. Other regions, including the globus pallidus, thalamus, subthalamic nucleus, substantia nigra, and cerebellum, show varying degrees of atrophy depending on the pathologic grade.

Christmas music
February 22, 2012 at 10:52 pm by lu
“Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” – Judy Garland (1944). This song was introduced by Judy Garland in a poignant moment in the 1944 christmas music musical Meet Me In St. Louis. The filmmakers complained that the first version of the song’s lyrics was too depressing and commissioned a rewrite that became the most popular interpretation.
Many Christmas traditions are relatively recent such as Santa Claus and reindeer and bear no relation to Christmas carols. We have reflected this in the unusual and beautiful Victorian Angel Pictures we have included for your pleasure and enjoyment. Today Christmas songs and carols are also fast becoming a tradition.
In Ireland, a temporary radio station named Christmas FM broadcasts on a temporary license in Dublin and Cork from November 28 to December 26, solely playing Christmas music.
In the U.K., the Festive Fifty list of indie rock songs is broadcast starting on Christmas Day, originally by DJ John Peel, and nowadays by Internet radio station Dandelion Radio.

Study about flu treatment
February 19, 2012 at 2:52 pm by oa
In winter, humans tend to be indoors more and thus have closer contact with each other, which makes it easier for the virus to spread. The U.S. CDC recommends the use of Tamiflu (oseltamivir) or Relenza (zanamivir) for the flu treatment; however, the majority of people infected with the virus make a full recovery without requiring medical attention or antiviral drugs. The flu can also result in serious health problems such as pneumonia and hospitalizations.
When you have a cold or flu your body is under a lot of stress, fighting the viral infection. Discover some self-care tips to help you cope when you’re stuck in bed with miserable flu symptoms. What is Ocular Rosacea?
February 13, 2012 at 7:30 am by ma
Ocular rosacea is inflammation of the eye that occurs as a result of rosacea, a chronic, inflammatory condition that affects the skin on the face, nose and forehead. The ocular rosacea symptoms include: red, dry and irritated eyes and eyelids, sensitivity to light (photophobia), blurred vision, visibly dilated small blood vessels on the white part of the eye, foreign body sensations, itching and burning. Ocular rosacea primarily affects adults between the ages of 30 and 60 and is more common in people with fair skin and light hair and eye color. In cases of severe ocular rosacea, inflammation of the cornea may lead to a corneal ulcer with infection. If left untreated, the corneal ulcer may even perforate the eye becoming a serious and potentially blinding complication. The treatment usually consists of lid hygiene measures and daily use of an antibiotic or combination antibiotic-steroid ointment.

Christmas movies “Jingle All the Way” article
February 12, 2012 at 12:01 am by oa
Many peoples rejoiced during the winter solstice, when the worst of the winter was behind them and they could look forward to longer days and extended hours of sunlight. “Jingle All the Way” is one of the best Christmas movies by Arnold Schwarzenegger. The true meaning of Christmas – desperate last-minute shopping – is the subject of this holiday-themed comedy.
A harried father decides to dream the impossible dream, to get that year’s hot toy for his son just before Christmas Day. “Jingle All the Way” is a 1996 American family-oriented comedy film directed by Brian Levant and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sinbad, Phil Hartman, Rita Wilson, Jake Lloyd, James Belushi and Robert Conrad. If the gifts and parties become the most important thing, then we will no longer ring out the true meaning of Christmas!

About GERD Complications
February 10, 2012 at 10:45 am by ma
The prolonged acid reflux can develops in severe complications. Fortunately, the serious complications of bleeding (hemorrhage) and esophageal perforation (a hole in the gullet allowing leakage of fluid into the central chest) are rare complications of gastro-esophageal reflux. If a perforation does occur in the esophagus, it results in infection and inflammation in the central chest area which can be fatal if not diagnosed and treated quickly. It is estimated that about 10 to 15 percent of individuals with severe symptoms of GERD will develop Barrett’s esophagus (a change in the lining of the esophagus that can increase the risk of cancer). Esophageal cancer is a disease in which malignant (cancer) cells form in the tissues of the esophagus. GERD is also significantly associated with the development of laryngeal cancer. Esophageal stricture is a gradual narrowing of the esophagus, which can lead to swallowing difficulties. Acid reflux can cause asthma problems and symptoms to accelerate. GERD can also cause hoarseness, chronic coughing, and bad breath.

Hair growth review
February 7, 2012 at 10:52 pm by lu
The cost of drugs that must be taken continuously adds up to a large lifetime expense. In the future, as physicians and scientists gain a better understanding of how the normal hair growth cycle is controlled, and how various disease conditions affect hair growth, new medicines will be developed that more effectively target the cause of the hair loss, and cause fewer side effects as a result.
Diseases and conditions that cause temporary hair loss are called non-scarring alopecias by doctors. These diseases do not seem to harm or scar the hair follicle in a permanent way. The hair is lost, but it either regrows all by itself, or with the right chemical signals, can be made to regrow.
